Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE GASTROINTESTINAL contains a natural extract of horse chestnut that has been shown to exert an antispasmodic action induced by modulation of cholinergic receptors and calcium channels at intestinal level. The Fit-aroma® of MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE GASTROINTESTINAL has astringent prop- erties that slow intestinal peristalsis and improves the action of digestive enzymes. The beneficial effects of horse chestnut are attributed to its prin- cipal component: Escin. Escin ameliorates intestinal mucosal injury and increases the expression of tight junction proteins, suggesting that horse chestnut extract effectively inhibits acute inflammation.

The efficiency of Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE GASTRO- INTESTINAL is enhanced by the complementary inclusion of tyndalized – in- active – strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum and Streptococcus thermophilus, introducing the parasynbiotic concept (paraprobiotics + prebiotics) in dog food. Resistant to gastric juic- es, digestive enzymes and bile acids, these tyndalized – inactive – strains are able to bind to the intestinal epithelium and compete with potential pathogenic bacteria. Recent studies have illustrated the benefit of this concept on local immunity.
